Bulgaria and the U.S. state of Tennessee have a rich history of cooperation spanning more than 30 years and we are delighted to be part of its future.
In 1993, Bulgaria became one of the first countries to join the U.S. National Guard’s State Partnership Program (SPP), which was initially created to help build connections between the United States and Еastern European countries and to professionalize their militaries. Over the past 33 years, Bulgaria and Tennessee have participated in over 600 military-to-military engagements, training exercises and cultural outreach events, which have promoted interoperability and mutual understanding.*

As a state that uses drones for disaster relief and civil defense, the delegation from Tennessee highly appreciated learning more about our flagship UAS, the Black Swan. The Black Swan remains a unique MALE (medium-altitude, long-endurance) drone in Europe, making Bulgaria one of the few countries in the world to have developed, built and tested such technology.
We thank the U.S. Embassy for including Dronamics on the whistle stop tour of the delegation which included key officials from the Tennessee Governor’s Office, the State Commissioner of Agriculture, and senior leadership from the Tennessee National Guard, as well as representatives from the U.S. Embassy.

The delegation included Andy Holt, Tennessee’s Commissioner of Agriculture, Steve Playl Jr., Director of Strategic Development at the Tennessee Department of Defense, Brandon Gibson, Chief Operating Officer of the State of Tennessee, and other representatives from both the State administration as well as the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria.
